T.O.S.S.
TACTICAL OFFICER SURVIVAL SCHOOL
Each year the Arkansas Sheriffs Association host a Tactical Officer Survival School.
There is a class held in the Spring and in the Fall each year. This training helps you
develop vital skills that can save your life. In this training you learn:

Survival Marksmanship ▪ Proper use of a Shotgun
Multiple Targets ▪ Multiple Suspect Shootout Survival
Moving & Shooting ▪ Handgun & Shotgun Survival Loading
How to Survive if Attacked in Unit ▪ Traffic Stop Survival
Shotgun Performance Level Development ▪ Vehicle Assaults
Shotgun to Pistol Transitional Shooting
Learn the importance of angles & what they mean to your survival

INSTRUCTOR:  Chief Tom Long of the Southaven Mississippi Police Department, teaches
shooting skills to the United States Navy Seals, Delta Force and all branches of the
Special Forces.  Chief Long is internationally recognized for his shooting techniques and
tactical knowledge.  His training is focused toward street officer survival, using the latest
tactics for vehicle assaults and officer survival while being attacked inside the police unit.

T.O.S.S. is strictly a hands-on course involving actual vehicle approached and engaging
hostile targets inside the vehicle, requiring the participants to fire through glass and
vehicle body parts.  Participants will be required to engage targets while sitting inside a
vehicle, firing through the vehicle glass.

THIS IS A REAL SURVIVAL SHOOTING SCHOOL
NOT A TWO DAY MOVIE & TALK SESSION
Each participant is required to have the following equipment:
1.        Weapons:  Handgun and Shotgun
2.        Leather gear/ Tactical Web Gear with several extra magazines/speed loaders
3.        Range Wear / All-Weather Gear
4.        Acceptable eye and ear protection
5.        Ammunition:  1,000 rounds of hand gun ammunition & 200 rounds of shotgun  
           ammunition.  Birdshot is acceptable
